Braylon's 1st Birthday!

We had a big day yesterday celebrating Braylon's birthday. There were a little over 20 people eating hamburgers, Italian sausages and tons of chocolate cupcakes!!
Braylon wasn't sure if he even wanted his birthday cupcake.

Papa and Mama bought him this toy, he loves it becasue it spins and makes lots of noise!

Nana in Indiana bought him this nice set of wheels. (It even has a sippy cup holder)

Madison loved playing this Pin-the Tail on the donkey game!!

Even Madison got a couple gifts!!

Braylon didn't want me to put him down!! Here he is waving to the camera!

He is our little gift!

Everyone just made themselves at home and sat anywhere they could find a spot! It was fun having everyone together!

Smile everyone!!

Mother's Day Party at Madison's Class

Yesterday Madison's class had a Mother's Day party. There were muffins and punch , we made beautiful noodle necklaces and watched the kids perform silly songs and dances. This was us getting ready for the party.

I'm not sure what this pose was all about???

Priceless...

When I arrived, the class was having "Circle Time".

Here they are singing Happy Mother's Day to the tune of "Oh Christmas Tree".

Madison dancing with her friend Reiley

The kids were dancing to a song called "If I were a Noodle"....it was too funny!

Madison says that this is her best friend (although that changes everyday!)

This was at church yesterday.Braylon and Abigail (Adam's daughter) were deciding who is going to sit in this seat.

We went to Ruby Tuesday's on Saturday night. Braylon found their saltine crackers to be everything he expected!

Madison was STARVING and was trying to color to take her mind off of it!

Our tent

I helped Madison build this tent...she said that it was the coolest tent in the whole world!!!
Some of my greatest memories are of my brothers and I building tents and forts, using every blanket and chair in our house! Those were fun times!!

A day with the kids...

Today is my second day in a row to be off of work, Braylon hasn't been feeling well. I took him to the doctor yesterday and she said that he has "Rota-virus", she laughed and said that rota stands for "right out the anus"! Boy, is that true, we've almost gone through 54 diapers in 4 days!! I'm hoping that the worst is over!
For lunch today, Madison, Braylon and I went to Burger King. We ate our healthy burgers and then Madison got to play on the playground. When it was time to go, I called for her to come out. As with every kid, she didn't want to go and let some of the little girls she was playing with talk her into going through the playground one more time. Since I had Braylon is one arm, a diaper bag and my purse in the other and our two drinks...I wasn't able to run in after her. I finally caught her eye and she knew that she was in trouble! Once we got out to the Jeep, she kept apologizing over and over saying, "Mom, please don't be mad!" After a 10 minute talk of how she had disobeyed and we weren't going to be going back for a while...I looked at her through the rear view mirror and she said, "I'm glad we worked this out Mom!" :-)
Both of the kids are now sleeping and I get to mop the kitchen floor....what a day!!

Easter Weekend

Our weekend...
Papa and Grammy came over from Indiana to visit for the weekend. Friday we spent the day relaxing. Saturday we went up to my parents church for an Easter Egg hunt, it was fun. While the kids were waiting inside to hunt the eggs, they did skits and songs and had the Easter Bunny there. Madison about came unglued when that bunny walked in. After she collected herself, she told Matt," I don't like people in costumes!"
We spent Saturday afternoon at my parents house eating hamburgers and visiting.
Sunday morning we all got up and got all "fancied up" for church.
Here are some pictures from our weekend....

Easter Sunday morning

Snuggling up after getting out of the bath tub!

Both sets of grandparents...not many kids get that priviledge!

Music runs in the family... with three little ones playing, I'm sure that you can imagine how beautiful it was!

Easter Eggs

Last night Madison colored Easter eggs, she kept telling me that we needed to wake up the baby chickens that were inside! As we were coloring, Matt walked in a grabbed an egg and began to crack it so he could eat it. He asked Madison if she wanted a bite. She reluctantly took a little bite...in about 10 minutes, she had eaten that whole egg and another!
Why color them when you can eat them?? :-)

Chess Game

In this intense father-daughter game of chess,
I captured the moment right before Madison said "Check"...

Drying the dishes

Last night after dinner Madison wanted to help me wash the dishes. Not only did she dry them but look at how neatly she stacked them! :-) She told me "Mom, you can't put them away until you stacked them!" That's today housecleaning tip from Madison!

Say "Cheese!"

Papa & Mama

My Dad and Mom came over tonight to spend some time with me on my birthday. It's always so nice to be with them.
Classic line of the night (made by Madison of course): "Papa, you're 50?? It's almost time for you to go to heaven!!"
Thankfully Papa thought it was funny and laughed....instead of crying!! :-)
I have to tell you two things that Madison said last night:
1. As I was putting her to bed, we were talking and telling stories, it was so sweet. As I was laying there just looking at her, she looked at me and said, "Mom, you are putting your breath all over me!" The sweet moment was gone! I laughed so hard!
2. At 2:30 this morning, Braylon woke up screaming, wanting a bottle. He was screaming so loud that it woke Madison up. She sat up in bed with her eyes half open and said, "Mom, can I just sing Happy Birthday to you now so I don't forget in the morning?" Of course I said yes and she sang the whole song in this sleepy little- half awake voice....I will never forget, it was so precious!

Saturday night in Reno

Here we are at the "event of the rally". The
banquet is a dressy affair. Awards were given out to the top Cornwell dealers and they gave away a custom Cornwell Chopper. It's always a fun event to attend! Plus having a reason to get dressed up is exciting!

More Pictures from Reno

This picture was taken on Saturday, March 24th at an awards luncheon. Pictured are two of my friends to my left and my boss to my right.

Being Goofy

My boss bought these little bunny ears for Madison and of course I had to try them on and of course someone was there with a camera! :-)

Sarah in Reno

This is what I did the entire weekend...stood around and smiled. Losing your voice is no fun!
Too bad you can't see the beautiful mountians out of the window behind me.

The kids get their pictures taken at school every 6 months. Here are their proofs...the photographers make it so difficult to choose! These people make a killing on me!! :-)

It's been a while

I think that this is the longest that I have gone without posting anything to the blog. The last two weeks have been crazy. First Braylon got Pink Eye, once he got over that he got a cough and cold. I then of course got the cough and cold and started to lose my voice. I left last Thursday to go to Reno on business. Reno ....Reno is surrounded by mountains. My room was on the 25th floor and every morning I would open my curtains to see snow capped mountains, it was absolutely gorgeous! By Friday afternoon, I could not speak at all. The problem was, I went there to work the customer service booth and to answer questions....I ended up whispering to everyone, it was very frustrating!
Oh, on our way out to Reno, we had a lay over in Phoenix. Right as we were to get on the plane, the lady came over the speaker and said that the plane was having mechanical difficulties. We then found out that a baggage vehicle had backed up into the plane and put a hole in the side of it!! For those of you who know me, things like this ONLY happen to me!
I finally returned home Sunday evening and was very excited to see my family and to sleep in my own bed! I will post some pictures of my trip soon!
I am slowly getting my voice back and everyone here is back to being healthy!

Shots!!!

This past Wednesday, Madison had to go get four shots in order for her to start Kindergarten. (I cannot believe I am already talking about Kindergarten!) What a traumatic event that was. I haven't heard her scream that loud in a long time!
Right after her appointment, I took Braylon to see the doctor because he hasn't been feeling well all week. As I was leaving with him, Madison said, "Don't worry Buddy, they won't hurt you like they hurt me!" Isn't life hard so hard sometimes? :-)

Uncle Trent

This picture was taken this past Christmas at my parent's house. For those of you who are friends and don't know, this is Matt's brother Trent. He had the magic touch that night and Braylon fell right to sleep in his arms!
I am so fortunate that both mine and Matt's families are close. On most holidays, both families try and get together. I don't have any of the dreaded in-law stories!!
Uncle Trent, you really should come and visit!!! :-)

Look at Me!

Braylon's teacher at school asked me if we take a lot of pictures of him. She said that she brought her camera in to get some pictures and Braylon came crawling across the room as fast as he could with a huge smile on his face!! I told her that I was guilty! I can't help it, I love pictures...especially of my kids! You know, they grow up way to fast!
Both Madison and Braylon have a fascination with my broom. Madison will get it and run around the house slamming it on the floor. She is a HUGE fan of "Tom and Jerry" and always sees them chasing each other like that! Braylon will crawl as fast as he can into the kitchen just to see if he can make it to the broom without Matt or I grabbing him. (I guess it's the little things in life!) From now on, no more expensive toys...the Bush kids are getting brooms and laundry baskets!!

Hair Cut

Yesterday Madison got her hair cut off to the top of her shoulders. It's looks so cute. All the little girls at school are cutting their hair and Madison didn't want to be left out.
When we got back home she was looking in the mirror and said, "Mom, I'm still the same person right? I just have a different hairstlye, right? Wait, do I have to change my name now?"
I couldn't help but laugh!! ( I will post a picture as soon as I get one!)

Just a warning....

This morning on the way to take the kids to daycare, I got pulled over! I was going 29 in a school zone and didn't realize it. Of course the flashing lights and me pulling over worried Madison. After the police officer came and told me why he pulled me over and took my license back to his car... came a little voice from the back seat. "Mom, is the policeman mad at you?" When I told her that he wasn't and that he just wanted to make sure I was driving safe she said," Even if he's mad at you, don't worry, I'm not!"
The officer came back and gave me just a warning since my driving record was good. (A HUGE sigh of relief!) We then pulled away and Madison said "Mom, next time you get pulled over and get a ticket, I have some questions about safety that I would like to ask the policeman!"

Rock Star

Look out Uncle Zach....There's a new rock star in town!

Fighting Sleep

As most of you know, kids tend to fight sleep. Braylon Matthew is no exception! He refuses to go to sleep until he physically has no strength to keep his eyes open. Once he is asleep, he's out for the night...it's just getting to that point! We keep his pack-n-play (playpen) in the livingroom, that way we can contain him if we need to get things done or if Madison has her toys out. Tonight, after watching him rub his eyes with both fists and fighting his eyelids, I turned off all the lights and laid him down. He kept standing back up with his pacifier in his mouth and his eyes closed tight. I think we went through this 3 or 4 times before he actually fell asleep. He was bound and determined to be "up" even if he was sleeping!
Matt and I were talking, if someone told us that we had to go to sleep, gave us pillows and all the blankets we needed....you wouldn't hear a sound from us again!

Last weekend when Matt's parents came over for his birthday...we all danced to Journey's Greatest Hits....Madsion got a perfect score from the judges!

Follow my Heart

Yesterday morning Madison said, "Mom I need to tell you something, I have good news and I have bad news!" She said, "Here's the bad, my friend at school always wants to play this game called "Boobies" with our Barbie's." (About this time I was getting upset) Then she went on to say, "The good news is I told her that I had to follow my heart and games like that don't make God happy. From now on I am going to follow my heart!"
It just melted MY heart!!!

Classic Lines from Madison

Yesterday after I picked Madison up from school, she came home and told Matt, "Daddy, I didn't hit anyone today!"
She went on to say, "I had to be at the end of the line today and I felt pretty good about that!"
That little girl keeps us smiling!!
